Alice on the BBC

Episode image for 08/06/2010

There’s a great show on BBC radio 7 called Big Toe Books. It’s on every day at four o’clock, with excerpts from lots of great children’s books. This week they’re reading from Alice Next Door. The reader (Sharon Horgan) is fantastic, and she really makes the characters come to life. I have to admit though, that it’s very strange to hear someone else reading my books.

You can listen at any time by following this link: (or pasting it into your browser)

Queen of Teen

May 24, 2010 By: judicurtin Category: General Chat

It’s Queen of Teen time again.

In case you don’t know about it, this is a competition to find the writer who is -you’ve guessed it – the Queen of Teen.

It’s a really fun competition for everyone. Last year there were 10 finalists, including Cathy Cassidy, Jacqueline Wilson, and the ultimate winner, Louise Rennison. All ten got to travel in cool pink limos to a pink-themed party, where hordes of happy fans got to meet their favourite authors.

You can nominate your favourite author by visiting www.queenofteen.co.uk

Nominations close on June 14th.

I wouldn’t like to influence your votes, so I won’t mention names, but no Irish writer has ever been shortlisted, and that seems like a terrible pity, so  ………………………………….. pick your favourite author, and get voting!
